What you can expect

Enjoy four hours of unique wilderness adventure in Mt Aspiring World Heritage National Park in the lower South Island by air, land and water.

Meet your pilot at the start of your adventure before climbing aboard a Cessna 185 and take off for an incredible 25 minute scenic flight taking in the most incredible views of the region. Land in the middle of the mountains in the Siberia Valley before setting off an unguided 3 hour walk on a clearly defined track exploring river valleys and native beech forest. If you’re lucky you may even spot native fantail along the way.

At the end of your walk in the Wilkin Valley, a jet boat will be waiting for you to whisk you back to Makarora on a scenic river safari through the picturesque New Zealand wilderness.

Along the way your pilot and drivers will entertain you with their rich knowledge of the area and its history, pointing out the significant landscape features that the area is world famous for.

Please note: The Siberia Experience operates from 01 October to 30 April annually.
