What you can expect

Discover the magic of Australia’s night sky in the heart of Uluru and Kata Tjuta National Park. Board the comfortable bus that will pick you up from your accommodation, and journey to your extraordinary stargazing location, led by your passionate and knowledgeable guides. Spend time learning about indigenous astronomy, as well as different planets and deep sky objects, using the powerful binoculars and telescopes at your disposal. You’ll also have a professional photograph taken of you under the night sky capturing the incredible star-filled backdrop.

Duration
  • Tours run for 2.5 - 3 hours most evenings
  • Depending on weather conditions, you’ll stay at the national park for about 90 minutes and the total duration of the tour is up to 2.5 hours
  • From April to September, the hotel pickup time is between 8 to 8:30 p.m., depending on visibility (e.g. moonrise)
  • The drivers will take you from your hotel to the exclusive viewing area within the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park
Departure Location
  • This tour includes a transfer from the Ayres Rock Resort with pick-ups at the following hotels; Desert Gardens Hotel (closest pick-up point for guests staying at the Emu Walk Apartments), Sails in the Desert (closest pick-up point for guests staying at the Lost Camel, The Ayres Rock Campground Bus Stop and the Outback Hotel and Lodge. You can also visit the operator at the Tourist Information Centre, Shop 3, Yulara Drive, Yulara, NT, 0872 or call the provider on 1800 565 788.
What To Bring
  • Please wear closed-in shoes and comfortable clothing
  • In the hot season (November to March) please bring a bottle of water as it's still quite warm in the evenings
  • During the cold season (June to September), please wear warm clothing including a scarf, beanie, gloves and warm jacket as it's very cold at night
Terms And Conditions
  • The vehicles are not wheelchair accessible but if you have a fold-up wheelchair or pram you are welcome to store it on the bus for use at the site.
  • Tours may need to be changed at short notice due to weather, accessibility or other events outside Atrip’s control
  • We have a 9.25-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope, binoculars and laser pointer
  • There is a restroom facility available for convenience at the sunset view area in the national park.
Cancellation Policy
  • Change your booking up to 7 days before the start time of your experience
  • Changes are not permitted within 7 days of your experience
  • Late arrivals or no-shows may result in you forfeiting your experience
